Tomorrow Darcy and I am going to see Blue Oyster Cult at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. They have been a huge influence on my life. From the cryptic symbol used on all their album covers to the subversive lyrics and diverse music styles, they have blown me away since I was a little kid.
Most likely the first time I remember them is the song Don’t Fear The Reaper or Godzilla. As I got older I got more and more into their older records and dove deep into the catalog. The imagery they create is amazing and the musicianship and guitar work is incredible. We have only seen them one other time and that was at a fireworks show in New Hampshire over 15 years ago!
I used to draw their logo all the time when I was in high school, so I thought I would give it a try again all these years later.
